THIS WEEK AT CHS (March 3-7)

Term 3 Progress Reports

Term 3 Progress Reports will be emailed home on Monday, March 10 at 2 p.m. Due to the number of snow days and early dismissals, CHS extended the halfway point of Term 3 to Tuesday, March 4.

As a result, the progress report distribution date was extended by two days. This move will allow the Term 3 Progress Reports to be more comprehensive and more reflective of a student's standing in a class.

However, please note that Term 3 has not been extended. Term 3 ends on Friday, April 4.

Canton Police Community Education Night


The Canton Police Department presents "Internet Safety for Parents" on Monday, March 3 @ 7pm in the Canton High School Library. 

Topics will include the risks involved with improper internet usage, current trends & prevention tips.   The presentation should last approximately 45 minutes and will be followed by a Q&A session.


This event is open to ALL parents in the community.  Children will NOT be allowed to attend.  If you plan to attend, please send a courtesy email to Sgt. Rae at crae@town.canton.ma.us.

Post-Secondary Planning Workshop

Wednesday, March 5 -- 6:30 pm in the CHS Auditorium

Attention parents of current CHS Grade 11 students: The Guidance Department is hosting a "Post-Secondary Planning Workshop" on Wednesday, March 5 at 6:30 pm. in the CHS Auditorium. It is a great opportunity for parents and students learn more about the college, military and vocational process. The workshop is approximately an hour.

MCAS EXAM Schedule for Grade 10

All sophomores and any juniors who have never taken any MCAS tests will take the English Language Arts (ELA ) portion of the Grade 10 MCAS on March 18, 19, and 21. 

 Tuesday (ELA Composition) and Wednesday (ELA Session 1&2) exams will take place from 8:16 to 11:25 a.m. in designated rooms. If students need extra time, they have until the end of the school day to complete the exam.

 On Thursday (ELA Session 3), the MCAS exam will begin at 8:16 and will run until 10:04. Again, students who need extra time will have until the end of the school day to complete the exam.

 Students will be notified of the MCAS testing schedule and of their room assignments in advance of testing. They will be attending an MCAS assembly on Monday, March 17. More information will be forthcoming about MCAS, and we are extremely confident that our students are prepared to excel on this exam.
