CHS participates at Hockomock Senate

"It was great to see everyone develop a bill and then debate it in front of the Senate. All of the schools get into it -- it makes you think."

This is one student's reaction to the recent Hockomock Senate, held at Mansfield High School.  Canton High School political science students and teacher David Hiltz joined other Hockomock League students for this two-day event, which challenged students to engage in the political process.

Teams brainstormed and developed bills, and then presented them to the Senate for consideration. The Senate then debated the bills and voted on them.

It was a fantastic learning experience for all involved.
