Thomas, Burega shine at All-State Music Festival

Bravo!

The MMEA (Mass. Music Educators Association) All-State Music Festival was held at the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center in Boston from February 28- March 2.  Two CHS students -- Katie Thomas and Grace-Mary Burega -- showcased their incredible talent.

Katie Thomas was named 1st chair in the All-State Band which performed at Boston Symphony Hall on Saturday.  Katie passed two auditions for acceptance into this prestigious group and also performed with the Southeastern Senior District Orchestra earlier this year.  

Grace-Mary Burega was selected to participate in the Young Composers Master Class where she presented her composition "Four Realities for solo Bass Clarinet" for critique.  

Grace-Mary also participated in the Southeastern District Festival playing saxophone in the Senior District Band.
