CHS Academic Support Center

Monday-Thursday, from 2-3:30 p.m., in the CHS Library

The CHS Library
A great effort and a willingness to work hard will lead to success.

Need extra help? Need access to the internet, a printer, a computer? Need a "good place" to get things done -- to study, to write, to think.

I am very pleased to announce that Canton High School kicked off its Afterschool Academic Support Center in the CHS Library this week. From now until the end of the year, The CHS Academic Support Center will run Monday through Thursday from 2-3:30 p.m. Two certified CHS staff members will supervise The Center and offer support as needed. It will be "drop-in" style, meaning everyone is welcome for any amount of time.

The Academic Support Center is a great way for students to improve, get extra help, work collaboratively with classmates or utilize technology and library resources. Sometimes students just need a structured place to complete their work and focus.

Now they have it!

Students should remember that meeting their teachers after school is the first option if they need extra help. Additionally, student should know that the staff for the Academic Support Center will not provide specialized, one-on-one tutoring. However, we are enthused by our talented staff who can offer support to students in multiple content areas.
The computers and printers
will be available to students.

Mondays -- Ms. Duggan (Math) and Ms. Ashley (English)
Tuesdays -- Ms. Duggan (Math)/Ms. Hayes (Special Education)
Wednesdays -- Ms. Rousseau (Science) and Mr. Murphy (English)
Thursdays -- Ms. Busa (Spanish) and Ms. Lisi (Math)

Students, come on by!
Parents, encourage your sons and daughters to attend...We want to help and support them!

Let's work hard.

Term 3 and Report Cards

Term 3 started yesterday and students received their new schedules, which included their new Semester 2 electives. Term 2 Report Cards will be distributed Tuesday, February 5, 2013.

The Bulldog Blog!

Sometimes you just need to take a risk...

I know very little about blogging and posting, widgets and gadgets. But I'm excited to learn and try, edit and revise, be confused and challenged. That's what learning is all about, right? Forget comfort...I want to struggle and think.

I'm certain this will happen, as I embark into the interactive world of blogging. I'm ready.

The reward, you see, is worth the risk.

This blog, in either its simplest or most advanced form, will provide a window into Canton High School -- a showcase of the amazing student and staff achievements and the many happenings at our tremendous school. With that, on behalf of the CHS community, I proudly bring you the Canton High School Bulldog Blog!

It is my hope that the Bulldog Blog represents a source of pride, highlighting our academic excellence through words, pictures, and performances. I hope it serves as a key piece of communication to build "relationships" for an "inclusive community". And I hope, at its very core, it documents our efforts to "continuously improve" our 21st century teaching and learning.

I'm excited. I hope you are too! Are you ready?

Please subscribe to The Bulldog Blog by typing in your email in the "gadget"  above. You will receive email updates with every new post.

One day I will have an RSS Feed and you can read The Bulldog Blog on Flipboard.

Boy, I'm not there yet. But soon enough.

Time to ask the students for help!
